About the event
Bring the spirit of tea ceremony into the park by glazing your own pre-made chawan (matcha bowl). Hosted by PotteryChicago, you’ll personalize a hand-thrown bowl from the studio and sip a freshly whisked matcha latte from our popup cart as part of this calming, social afternoon outdoors.
🍵 What to Expect
We’ll gather at the Lincoln Park Chess Pavilion to decorate your bowls with brush-on glazes and patterns. Enjoy a matcha latte prepared to order while you create, and feel free to bring picnic snacks if you’d like something to nibble on during the afternoon. Once glazed, your bowls will be kiln-fired and returned ready for daily tea rituals or display as a unique piece of pottery.
