Glazing | CGWW

What to Expect

This is our normal Glazing class but in a more social setting. This class is intended for individuals who took the wheel throwing class on January 4th 2025 with Chicago Girls Who Walk Join us for Part II of our pottery-making series, where you’ll transform your clay creations into finished, food-safe ceramics! In this session, you’ll learn the art of glazing—applying a thin layer of pigmented glass (glaze) to customize your piece with colors, patterns, and designs using brushes. After glazing, your pottery will be fired in a 2000-degree kiln, completing its transformation into a durable ceramic piece ready for everyday use. Whether you’re adding bold colors or subtle textures, this step brings your creation to life This class is not included in the wheel class -- but is equally as important in the process. Without the glazing and firing your piece will just be shaped clay. ⚠️If you'd like to attend this class but did not make a piece on the wheel, you should sign up for household ceramics on this same date, in which you can glaze custom pieces like butter dishes, berry bowls, plates and more https://www.thepotteryloop.com/service-page/household-ceramics
