Matcha Mondays w/ Mylai Matcha: A 4-Week May Pottery Course

Matcha Mondays is a 4-session pottery course designed for tea lovers interested in creating their own traditional matcha tools. Whether you're new to clay or continuing your pottery journey, this hands-on class guides you through making a complete matcha set: a matcha bowl (chawan), a whisk holder (chasen kake), and a sip mug to enjoy your matcha in. Our weekly studio sessions begin Monday, May 4th, 6:30–8:00 PM. The course focuses on personalized instruction and plenty of hands-on support. Pottery Week 1 (May 4): The Matcha Bowl (Chawan) — Learn wheel-throwing fundamentals and create your primary matcha vessel. Pottery Week 2 (May 11): Sip Mug — Handbuild a mug for enjoying your matcha using coil-building techniques. Pottery Week 3 (May 18): Whisk Holder (Chasen Kake) — Practice taller forms on the wheel to create a functional stand for your matcha whisk. Pottery Week 4 (May 25): Glazing Session & Matcha Experience — Glaze all of your pieces using food-safe options while enjoying a live matcha demonstration by Mylai Matcha, covering whisking techniques, preparation, and matcha culture. Pieces will be ready for pickup 10 days after this session and will remain on the shelf for 60 days.
