Matcha Mornings — July 2026
Overview
Matcha Mornings is a 4-week pottery course on Saturday mornings. Classes meet Saturdays from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM on July 11, 18, and 25, 2026 (studio closed Saturday, July 4 for Independence Day). The final glazing session on Saturday, July 25 meets at 3:00 PM and includes a matcha café setup. Small class sizes (maximum 13 students) ensure personalized instruction.

Refund Policy
Non-refundable 5 days before the start. A $25 cancellation fee applies before this. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is also enrolled in the course.
Attendance Policy
If you cannot attend a session, please email potterychicago@gmail.com before enrolling and we will inform you if a makeup option is available.

The Matcha Bowl (Chawan)
Learn wheel-throwing fundamentals and create your primary matcha vessel.

Sip Mug or Matcha Canister
Create a cozy sip mug or handbuild a traditional-style canister.
- Week 3Jul 25
Whisk Holder (Chasen Kake)
Practice taller forms on the wheel for your matcha whisk.
- Week 4Jul 25 (3pm)
Glazing Session & Matcha Café
Glaze all pieces using food-safe options (session starts at 3:00 PM). A matcha café setup is included — enjoy matcha while you glaze. Finished pieces are ready in about 7–10 days after glazing.
