[Wednesdays] May Markets Handbuilding Course

Overview

May Markets is a 5-week pottery course inspired by the sights, smells, and textures of your local farmers market — no wheel required. This course focuses entirely on handbuilding techniques, making it perfect for beginners and returning students who want to create functional, beautiful pieces that feel rooted in the season. Over five weeks, you'll build four to five pieces designed to live alongside the things you love about the market: a tiny vase for fresh-cut stems, a berry bowl for summer fruit, a charcuterie board for market cheese and snacks, and a mug or herb planter for your kitchen. Each week introduces a new handbuilding technique — pinch pot, coil building, and slab construction — before finishing with a glazing session. Expect a warm, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of room to slow down, get your hands in clay, and make pieces you'll actually use. Classes meet Wednesdays from 6:30–8:30 PM, beginning June 3. Students typically complete about one piece per week. All tools and materials are included.
