[Tuesdays] March 6-Week Pottery Course

Overview

This 6-week pottery course is perfect for anyone looking to start a new hobby, refine their skills, and meet like-minded people! You'll create functional, personalized pieces while learning both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. Classes meet Tuesdays from 7:00–9:00 PM (March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31). Glazing is scheduled 30 minutes before each class (6:30–7:00 PM). Pickup is typically about one week after glazing; pieces are held for 60 days after firing. Courses are kept small, at 13 students. Most students finish 5–6 final pieces (maximum of 6 to ensure kiln space). All tools and materials are included, with the option to purchase a personal tool kit for $20.

Refund Policy

Non-refundable 5 days before the start. A $25 cancellation fee applies before this. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is also enrolled in the course.

If you cannot attend a class, please contact potterychicago@gmail.com before enrolling and we will inform you if a makeup option is available.

Week 5 (Mar 31): Skill Recap & Refinement
Class 7:00–9:00 PM. Glazing 6:30–7:00 PM. Pickup ~1 week after glazing. Overview of glazing and firing process.

Week 6 (Flex in Apr): Glazing (optional extra)
Up to 4 hours of studio time (split across 2 sessions) in April to glaze during open hours. Finished pieces ready ~1 week after glazing, held 60 days.
