Matcha Bowls with Mylai Matcha

Join us for a special two-part pottery and matcha experience in collaboration with Mylai Matcha, designed for both pottery lovers and matcha lovers alike. Over the course of two sessions, you'll create your own custom ceramic matcha bowl from clay and finish it with your choice of glaze, resulting in a fully functional, food-safe and highly customizable piece to use at home. Please note, by booking, you are committing to attend both sessions: Part 1: Saturday, February 28th, 5:00–6:30 PM Part 2: Wednesday, March 11th, 6:30–8:30 PM Part 1: Matcha Bowl Wheel Class This beginner-friendly pottery wheel class focuses on creating your own beautiful matcha bowl. During this 90-minute session, students will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing with hands-on guidance from our instructors. You'll shape and refine your piece on the wheel, and at the end of class, each student will select one bowl to keep. Part 2: Glazing & Matcha Experience Return for a relaxing glazing session where you'll decorate your matcha bowl with your choice of food-safe glazes. During this session, Mylai Matcha will host a live matcha demonstration, sharing tips on how to properly whisk matcha, preparation techniques, and insights into matcha culture. This unique collaboration blends craft and culture, giving you the chance to create a functional matcha bowl and learn how to use it in an authentic matcha experience. No prior pottery or matcha experience needed. All materials, instruction, glazing, and firing are included.
